Exchange

The Kadir Has Coventry University Istanbul collaboration provides students with the opportunity to gain international experience to further enhance their employability by studying for a semester or academic year at the partner university, undertaking a short field trip or undertaking joint academic projects in a virtual environment through Online International Learning (OIL).  The collaboration also provides international exchange opportunities for academic and professional staff.

Student Exchange

International education plays an important role in preparing students for an international labour market that is becoming more diverse and competitive. University graduates that study abroad and develop adaptability and foreign language skills will have a competitive advantage on the international job market and be more likely to achieve success in their career.  Research has found that 75% of students with international experience gain a graduate position relevant to their discipline within 6 months of graduation, and, on average, students with international experience earn £4,000 more than those without (Attainment in Higher Education – Erasmus and Placement Students, HEFCE, 2009).

Current students at Kadir Has University or Coventry University can spend between three and 12 months studying abroad through Erasmus+ (European Region Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students), the European Commission’s flagship exchange program.  Erasmus students currently benefit from a fee waiver if they are abroad for a full academic year.  Eligible students receive an Erasmus grant to contribute to living costs arising from studying abroad.

Students will need to obtain a visa before undertaking exchange visits. Students wishing to study in the UK can visit on a Student Visitor visa (up to six months) or Tier 4 (General) visa (over six months). Further information regarding UK Study visas is available on GOV.UK. Students wishing to study in Turkey can visit on an Education Visa. Further information on obtaining an Education visa for Turkey is available here.

Staff Exchange

Kadir Has University and Coventry University  provide opportunities for staff to work at a partner institution for a one week period as part of the Erasmus+ program in order to support internationalisation and collaborative working.
